हिमाचल प्रदेश में नवंबर मध्य से पहले चुनाव कराए जाएंगे। वहीं, गुजरात में नवंबर मध्य के बाद दो चरणों में विधानसभा चुनाव होंगे। आयोग की टीम चुनाव तैयारियों से संतुष्ट है। चुनाव आयोग नवंबर महीने के अंत तक दोनों राज्यों में चुनाव प्रक्रिया पूरी कर लेना चाहता है।मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त राजीव कुमार और चुनाव आयुक्त अनूप चंद्र पांडे ने हाल ही में हिमाचल प्रदेश का दौरा कर चुनाव तैयारियों का जायजा लिया था। राज्य में चुनाव से जुड़ी सारी तैयारियां करीब-करीब पूरी हैं। फिलहाल आयोग की योजना नवंबर के पहले हफ्ते के बाद किसी भी दिन चुनाव कराने की है। राज्य में पिछली बार चुनाव नौ नवंबर को कराया गया था। इस बार भी एक चरण में ही चुनाव कराए जाने की योजना है। गुजरात विधानसभा चुनाव नवंबर के दूसरे या तीसरे हफ्ते में दो चरणों में कराए जा सकते हैं।मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त और चुनाव आयुक्त राज्य का दौरा कर चुनावी तैयारियों का जायजा ले रहे हैं। सूत्रों ने बताया कि पिछली बार की तरह दोनों राज्यों के चुनाव की तारीखों में बड़ा अंतर नहीं होगा। पिछली बार गुजरात में नौ और 14 दिसंबर को मतदान कराए गए थे। हिमाचल प्रदेश विधानसभा का कार्यकाल 8 जनवरी तो गुजरात विधानसभा का कार्यकाल 23 फरवरी तक है।
